Nestled high in the misty Peruvian Andes, the Cajamarca region boasts a mild climate and incredibly rich soil which is essential for producing world-class coffees. Though coffee has been grown in Peru since the middle of the 17^th century, cultivation for commercial export has been hampered by the inaccessibility of small farms and remote locations. With the rise of commercial collectives, which organize smallholders into democratic co-ops, fine Peruvian coffees are now emerging onto the specialty coffee scene. This exceptional offering is characterized by a pleasant, creamy mouthfeel and rich, cocoa, brown sugar and citrus notes.
